Caroline Nokes MP inaugurates Symetrica’s ‘Solutions Hub’

Symetrica has been excited to welcome Caroline Nokes MP, the member of parliament for Romsey and Southampton North, who officially inaugurated the company’s new ‘Radioactive Threat Verification (RTV) Solutions Hub’. The new facility will further improve the company’s ability to support the evolving needs of the global security community – including the UK’s Home Office and Border Force, the US Department of Homeland Security, and other border protection agencies worldwide. At the same time the dedicated facility allows the company to focus efforts on impending global procurement programmes for radiation portal monitors and other radiation identification and detection equipment.

During her visit, Caroline was introduced to Symetrica’s wide spectrum of innovative threat verification solutions including advanced technologies and equipment that have secured important contract wins for the company in the US, Middle East and Europe.

Since her election in May 2010, Caroline has campaigned on various subjects, including education and the need for a high skilled economy and sat on a number of committees scrutinising several important pieces of legislation, among others the Justice and Security Bill. “The investment in a dedicated RTV Solutions Hub demonstrates Symetrica’s ongoing commitment to providing the technology and support that global agencies need to address ever-evolving security threats,” commented Caroline during her tour at Symetrica. “It also proves once again that the UK is at the cutting edge of developing technology solutions for international and home markets.”

Heddwyn Davies, Symetrica’s CEO, stated: “Building on our record of international sales growth, Caroline Nokes’ attendance at the inauguration of Symetrica’s RTV Solutions Hub reflects our desire to widen the existing dialogue and strengthen relationships not only with government representatives, procurement agencies and end users but also with the local community, including universities and students, and to demonstrate Symetrica’s contribution to the growing possibilities in the radiation detection industry”.

Symetrica’s RTV Solutions Hub will specialise in the development of a range of detectors, from handheld devices to fixed and mobile radiation portal monitors (RPMs). The opening of a dedicated hub follows recent international wins that the company secured thanks to its innovative solutions such as the unique Discovery Technology®. This scalable technology is employed across the company’s product range and in various OEM products, including the Smiths Detection RadSeeker. It is anticipated that initially a significant focus for the team at the RTV Solutions Hub will be on the development and delivery of RPM solutions on the back of growing worldwide demand for this type of equipment.
