VERIFINDER US LAUNCH

Symetrica Inc. are pleased to announce the VeriFinder in the US at the Combating Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive Threats Conference (19-21 May, 2015, Fairfax, VA). We will be joining radiological, nuclear, and explosive (RNE) conference delegates to discuss R/N challenges and we look forward to demonstrating the advanced features of the VeriFinder. The VeriFinder enables users to make smarter decisions by providing higher confidence results in high-pressure, multi-threat situations and in routine radiation screening. The VeriFinder builds on the technology of choice of US CBP (Customs and Border Protection agency) for secondary…

Exercising VeriFinder

The Verifinder was put through its paces days before commercial launch on exercise as part of the EDEN FP-7 Security Demonstration Project. The exercise saw the Verifinder being used for First Response against unknown devices that contained radioactive material and on the lead up to bomb disposal. Three field exercises took place across two days in the training area of the Polish Fire Service (SGSP) at Rzeszow in south eastern Poland. During the exercise Polish personnel used the Verifinder in close to real-life situations. Following operations, users commented on the tools they had…

Verifinder launched at CTX

Symetrica is pleased to announce the launch of the Verifinder at the Counter Terror Expo in London. The Verifinder supports high-pressure, multi-threat situation management and routine radiation screening applications. The system enables users to make smarter decisions by providing higher confidence results. The Verifinder reduces false positives and more importantly false negatives through the use of Discovery Technology®. “The Verifinder uses the technology of choice of US CBP (Customs and Border Protection agency) for secondary operations and adds enhanced connectivity to provide unmatched real-time threat verification” said Dr. Geraint Dermody, Symetrica’s…

New Technologies Demonstrated at SCINTILLA

Symetrica will be presenting Cargo Portal, Backpack, Luggage and Pedestrian Portal solutions at the public workshop. Each of these solutions uses LiZnS neutron detectors (He-3 free) and advanced gamma detection systems that have been the subject of applied research within SCINTILLA program. This benchmarking and demonstration program has followed hot on the heels of a successful co-incidence counter benchmark at the international workshop on He-3 Alternatives for International Safeguards and provides independent test and verification against the international consensus standards (ANSI and IEC). The Second SCINTILLA Public Workshop will be…

UK Business Secretary Announces Symetrica SmartScan

The UK Business Secretary Vince Cable announces funding for Symetrica’s SmartScan (£954,741) as part of a wider series of investments each tackling different innovation challenges across UK industry. SmartScan delivers new ‘detector’ technologies allowing more affordable and sustainable analysis of nuclear waste materials, avoiding the use of He-3 produced only as a by-product of nuclear warhead maintenance. The project brings together Symetrica, an SME in the Homeland Security Market, with Canberra UK, a leader in the Civil Nuclear Industry. Following the successful benchmark of our 6LiZnS neutron detector blades at…

Meet us at the IAEA Symposium on International Safeguards

Be the first to hear about our new He-3 free co-incidence counter in Vienna. Our system, developed in collaboration with the EU Joint Research Centre with funding from DG-Energy, combines unmatched thermal neutron sensitivity with the gamma rejection capabilities required for some of the most critical measurements in International Safeguards. Following a successful benchmark at the recent workshop on He-3 Alternatives for International Safeguards (JRC 13th – 17th October) Symetrica is pleased to present the design and optimization of the new co-incidence counter solution on Friday at the Symposium and…
